Pine Ridge Elementary opened in 1989 and is located in the Stone Mountain/Lithonia area. The school has enjoyed an exemplary academic reputation since its inception. The priority at Pine Ridge continues to be instructional excellence, with collaboration from our parents and the community. Our focus for the last few years has been to motivate students to read. Some of the reading incentives include Fast Break for Reading, Accelerated Reader, 600 Minutes Reading, Book It and Buzzing Through History. Our reading scores are increasing steadily due to our plan of instruction based on individual needs. Pine Ridge has a very active PTA that works diligently for our school. They sponsor many activities and are always willing to give us what we need for our students to become life-long learners.
